Does anyone know more about the current S-Bahn construction in central Munich? I didn't find many details online, other than that it's a big multi-year project.
As of two weeks ago, on the weekend (Friday and Saturday), there was construction on the S-Bahn in the central city (Marienplatz station was affected, for example). Some S-Bahn stops were closed, and some of the S-bahn trains weren't running. Maybe this was weekend only construction, or something that was previously scheduled? But, it was a surprise to our group since we didn't know about it ahead of time
We ended up using the U-bahn more, and the tram also could have been an alternative (although we didn't use it). Due to the S-bahn construction, and additional U-bahn rides we took, the daily transit pass (for one person) and group daily transit pass (for a group) became a good deal.
