Do any of you know of English speaking, good and affordable guides in Cologne, Nuremberg, Koblenz, Regensburg, or Wurzburg? If you know someone RS recommends or someone like them, please let me know. RS tends to recommend individual guides that are much more affordable than those accessed through guide companies.

The city tourist offices typically offer private and/or public tours in English. I would check first with them.

Only two of the cities you mention are on the Rhine - Cologne and Koblenz.

While all the cities you list are indeed on rivers, only, as said above, Cologne and Koblenz are on the Rhine.
Würzburg is on the Main river, the same one which flows through Frankfurt.
Nuremberg is on the Pegnitz and the Danube-Main Canal which links those two rivers.
Regensburg is on the Danube.

Like Russ we go to the Tourist Office and check out their offerings. Usually the free maps and pamphlets are enough. They also often have a more extensive guide for sale. We browse them and have bought a few. Gary
