RS Best of Germany Tour- trail hiking?

Can anyone who has taken this tour before advise if there is any trail hiking as part of the tour? If not, is there an opportunity or no?
Wondering so I can decide to bring hiking shoes or not.

Thank you!

There are no specific hiking options on the tour. There is some free time on some days when you might be able to find some hiking but you have to do your own research on the various destinations. Maybe Bacharach?

A Rhine Valley town such as Bacharach is no doubt a very good spot for hiking - see Rhine Castle trail information:

Stage 10 takes around 3 hours - really nice. Stay in St Goar, hike to Oberwesel, catch the train back. St Goar is a fine base town for visiting Bacharach and Oberwesel, taking a river cruise, touring Marksburg Castle, and more if you have a few days.

If you fly into Frankfurt, it's 1 hour by train to this area - perhaps you do this before your tour and take the train to Hamburg from there.

Though not on RS tour, I did some hiking around St. Goar in my regular sturdy travel shoes (Keens). The trails were well maintained and I wouldn't have needed my normal Pacific Northwest hiking boots or shoes. If your hiking shoes would work for daily wear on the tour, then I'd bring them but I myself wouldn't pack a separate pair of hikers unless you plan to do a lot of trails pre-trip.
