Route from Baden-Baden to Tubingen

Next October, I will be driving from Baden-Baden to Tübingen and was wondering if there was a most scenic route or recommended Black Forest towns to visit that would not take us terribly off track. We probably will get a late start driving, because we plan to visit a spa on Sunday morning before we hit the road (Sat the spa separates men and women, and we are more interested in the coed experience which we can get on Sunday). With the late start, I don’t imagine we will have that many hours of sunlight for sightseeing along the way, but we would like to get at least a taste of the Black Forest. Suggestions?

It's just 85 miles between Baden-Baden and Tubingen. Google Maps indicate there are not roads going directly between the cities, and it says go north to Etringen, east to Filderstadt and south to Tubingen.
We've traveled the Black Forest a couple of times, however we really prefer to travel Bavaria or Western Tirol in Austria for much better scenery that's not that far away.

Go south to Freudenstadt in the Black Forest, then east to Tuebingen passing through Horb am Neckar.
viamichelin.com says 2 hour drive. My old Strassen & Reisen road atlas indicates Horb as a "picturesque" town.

Go south to Freudenstadt in the Black Forest, then east to Tuebingen passing through Horb am Neckar.

And if you have another hour or two to kill go from Horb south east via Haigerloch to Hechingen to see Burg Hohenzollern. From there it's a 30 min. drive to Tübingen.

Calw is one of the Black Forest's more interesting and attractive towns. As the crow flies, it's about half way between Baden-Baden along a direct path.

Calw lies on a theme route in this region called the Fachwerkstrasse or "Half-Timbered House Route" in English. You may wish to visit some other towns on the same route:

Wasserschloß Glatt is a moated castle that lies very near Horb , which was previously mentioned on this thread:

Take the Bad Wldbad and Calw route for more of a Black Forest experience.
Fredenstadt's claim to fame is it's large market place but I did not find the town that interesting or attractive.

As sla019 already notes Burg Hohenzollern is certainly worth a visit and if you drive through Haigerloch you can visit the Atomkeller-museum in a cave underneath the church there. Maybe just a bit too much out of the way, but I liked my visit a year ago to Schloss Lichtenstein, just seeing it dramatically placed on top of a cliff is worth the detour.
