Rotherberg ob tauber

Any good freelance Photographer to recommend? Like to engage someone maybe for an hour or two to capture some nice pic though while we are there.

What I shouldn’t miss while I am there? Food, coffee, dessert, souvenir.....

Photographers: I've no personal experience, but selection is limited and you might try either of the following photographers in Rothenburg:

https://starcutfoto.de/contact/

(The second one seems more promising. Klick on "Kontakt" to bring up an email form)

I'd splurge and have dinner at the Restaurant of Hotel Eisenhut (not far from the town hall; they have a nice garden). Souvenirs ... well, I could tell you what, in my view, absolutely to avoid (Käthe Wohlfarts Xmas shop), but you might disagree with me ... ;)

Don't miss the Riemenschneider altar in St. Jakob church (it's not his absolute masterpiece, but it's very good).

I second the Nightwatchman Tour! He was so entertaining and we had a great time! You will love this town. Such a beautiful place where you can enjoy just walking around.

We also really enjoyed the Night Watchman Tour.

Zur Holl is a restaurant that is not to be missed! Make reservations and not that it is cash only.

The criminal museum was very good.

Be sure to just take time and walk the walls.

The gardens outside the gates are beautiful for a photo shoot. I would recommend booking your session for early morning to avoid the crowds. I was wandering the streets at 6am last summer and there was beautiful light and only a couple others around (mostly photographers!). I’m not a photographer, but I got some great shots at that time.

I also recommend the Nightwatchman’s tour, and would take the tour before the photo session to get an idea of locations.

You’ll have no problem finding souvenirs! There are shops everywhere. We got a beautiful cuckoo clock at the Friese shop just off the main square. They also have beautiful steins. I found beautiful wood carvings all over town - ornaments, nativity scenes, etc.

The best time to shoot photos without hordes of people in the way in on a Sunday morning. This is true of most of Europe. RodT is especially nice early in the morning and late in the evening when the light is more yellow and warms the stones. Don't miss the small garden by St Wolfgangs Church.
