Rossfeld Panoramic Road

Hi,

I need recommendation which part of the Rossfeld Toll Road that is the most panoramic?

I plan to visit it after the Konigssee and Kehlsteinhaus. Is it a good idea? Which way should I start first, the southern via Purtschellerstrabe or northern via Obersalzbergstrabe?

TIA

Jen, we recently drove the Rossfeld rd, on a beautiful sunny day we managed to fit in all three of these in the same day, as we drove the road later in the day ( on a suggestion from our guest house owner) it was a good idea as it was nice to look out over the country side in the afternoon light. I think it cost about 7euro for the both of us in our car. we drove up from Berchtesgaden via the document center and across the top and down the other side and back to Berchtesgaden. we particularly liked the part at the top where there was a small car park on the side of the road ( almost near a restaurant entry) before the 'main' car park look out area.( it was the largest car park area we came to, coming from our direction) we then crossed the road and walked into a small field, on the right. the view ( to the east generally) was magnificent. i think they must fly model planes there. when we were there there was a small amount of snow still around, not enough to cause any problem and added to the experience.
the Rossfeld rd is not an absolute must see, but if you have a car, are in the area and want to see some beautiful scenery ( think sound of music) then its great. It was suggested to us and I am very glad we did it. if the weather was not good, probably not worth going.
