I am looking for an English speaking lunch cruise on the river spree but have been reading that the commentary is only provided in German. Can anyone suggest either an English speaking or audio option please.
Thanks George
Rick's description in the Berlin chapter mentions that English is available, but also suggests confirming that when you choose your departure time. www.sternundkreis.de is one recommended company.
I would just suggest that you inquire before you buy tickets as to whether there is actually a commentary or just some typed notes. We had a bad experience with the company recommended above, Stern und Kreis. One bad aspect was that the English "commentary" was a printed few sentences above a grainy xeroxed photo. By the time we figured out what to look at and read the script, we were often past the attraction and on to the next. We had another problem with them, not relevant to your query. I felt that their customer service was atrocious.
Thanks Rosalyn, I had heard that so I'll check before I buy.
I did a one-hour tour with the Bruno Winkler company and the commentary was pre-recorded in German and the English. My only issue was that I speak some German, and the English version of the commentary left out some interesting stuff, whether to save time or because they thought English-speakers wouldn't be interested.
Thanks Philip good to know.
