We would like to cruise in Germany but would like to avoid to start in Amsterdam. Also, coulod not find information on smoke free ships? Thank you, Chippy
Köln-Düsseldorf is the largest line on the Rhine and also has cruises on the Mosel. They are day cruises. Their website is at www.k-d.com/en/home
Are you talking about an extended river cruise or a day excursion?
Thank you for your answer, I should have been more specific. We were thinking of an extended river cruise. My husband thought driving would be too strenuous. The same goes for staying in different hotels during a trip, we experienced that in Switzerland a couple of years ago. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
You should google Rhine River Cruises. There are lots of cruise lines, Viking is just the biggest name. There should be something out there that strikes your fancy.
Don't misunderstand me as being rude, but I would suggest to you that there are relatively few Europe/River Cruise passengers on this particular newsboard. We have done river cruises in China and Russia, but never in Europe. Most posters here are independent, car and train travellers. Just trying to make the best use of your time online ... Happy travels.
I haven't done one, but my friend loves Viking River cruises. You might want to have them send you a brochure.
