There are many excellent river cruise lines. It is best to compare prices once you know where you wish to cruise.
We love Gate 1s prices and quality. We did a wonderful tour with two river cruises on the Nile that cost a little more than half what a comparable Viking cruise would cost.

Look at Nicko Cruises. This is a German based cruise line (operations are in both German and English) that is about 1/2 the price of the luxury cruise lines marketed so heavily in the United States.
