I heard that there is a Rick Steve's audio guide along the Rhine River for those taking a Viking River cruise that explains everything you are passing by. Is that true? If yes, how do I find it? We will actually be cruising from Bamberg to Trier, Germany.
Sandy, there is a Rhine audio tour, you can download from the Watch, Read, Listen link on this webpage (look to the left), but since neither Bamberg or Trier are on the Rhine River, it may not be what you're looking for.
Stan: From Bamberg, the Rhine is used to access the Mosel River on the way to Trier.
My mistake. I see I will primarily be on the Moselle and Maine Rivers with just a piece of the Rhine. So my questions remains the same, is the any audio tour for this path, a river cruise from Bamberg to Trier. Thanks for your responses.
Yes Russ. The RS Audio tour covers Bingen to Koblenz, on the Rhine.
Here's the direct link. It's called "Best Of The Rhine." Scroll to the bottom of the page to download directly to your computer, or you can get the app for your phone and download it that way. Once it's on your phone or computer, no data connection is required (it will even work in airplane mode).
No, as far as I know, Rick has not done an audio tour for Viking tours from Bamberg to Trier, only the popular short portion of the Rhine where the castles are in great profusion. Nothing on the Main, nothing on the Mosel.
That is too bad cause the Main has some lovely cities, Seligenstadt, Würzburg, Aschaffenburg, Miltenburg, Werthheim, just to name a few. I like using one of the guide books sold at the main train station or any of the castles that list the castles and towns you are passing.
I see that I neglected to put in the link - sorry! Here it is: http://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/audio/audio-tours/austria-germany
