We will cruising the Rhine river in July and I have questions as to if side tours are worth the time and $$. Or of there are other sites which I should see. From Koblanz, would Cochem and then the Reichsburg Castle be a good choice, or would it be best to stay in Koblenz? I would appreciate any and all input. Thank you!

Yes, we will be stopping in Cologne, Koblenz, and Mannheim in Germany. We can explore on our own in each city if we prefer versus taking the guided tours. From Mannheim we stop in Strasbourg and Breisach. Guidance appreciated!
