Reserving a seat on the train to Landsberg

You all have been so helpful with these train plans. Thank you. We are going to pick Kaufering as you suggested It leaves Paris at 10:55 so my parents don't have to hurry for an early start and gets into Kaufering at 17:18 so I should have enough time to get to the car rental place. And I will call for a taxi in advance. Thanks for the link.

As for reserving a seat, It seems like for a small difference we can do first class. In picking a seat for the 4 of us, which is the most comfortable- booth or side by side. It's a long train ride so I want my parents to be comfortable. If we do the booth, do you feel the motion going backwards?

You will not feel much motion on TGV and ICE trains, just gentle acceleration and deceleration. The tracks, especially French TGV tracks, are very precise. They have to be for a train to get up to 220 mph. At cruising speed, you hardly notice a thing. Trains will not be that fast in Germany, maybe 120 mph. The train from Munich-Pasing to Kaufering is a regional train, no reserved seats, but only a few 1st class and the train direction will be obvious so you can pick the seats you want. And its only 30 minutes, so just pick seats in 2nd class that suit you if you can't find what you want in 1st class.

Reservation on the French TVG is obligatory, so it will be included in your ticket. What you need is a reservation for ICE 518 from Stuttgart to Munich-Pasing. If you decide on travelling first class it will cost nothing but you will have to book your seat nontheless.

BTW, The easiet place for booking your tickets seems to be trainline.eu. I don't see those cheap first class tickets neither on DB nor SNCF.

so just pick seats in 2nd class that suit you if you can't find what you want in 1st class.

I'm afraid on a train leaving Pasing at 16:47 there will not be much opportunity to select a seat in 2nd class. Wish it was like that.

I did book 1st class. Was only $50 more for all 4 of us. So I have seats for the first two legs but the final one to Kaufering they didn't give me an option to reserve. Is there a way to do this?

Sorry, no. There are no reservations on local trains.
