Requesting Hotel Recommendations : Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt

Friends :

We are three - my wife, daughter (26) and I - visiting Germany in September
Can you share your hotel recommendations for the following 4 locations :

Munich - Sept 14,15,16,17 (we will be avoiding Oktoberfest)
Berlin - Sept 18,19,20,21
Hamburg, Sept 22,23,24
Frankfurt, Sept 25,26

We are looking for 3-4 star hotels - well located, close to public transportation, and with breakfast included.
Location and cleanliness is the most important for us.

Thanks for your feedback

In Munich we stayed at Hotel Uhland. It is a restored mansion. Spotless, large rooms and accommodate families. They had a wonderful included breakfast.

We really liked Hotel Torbrau in Munich. Really wonderful breakfast was included. Right in the heart of town.

We loved the Platzl in Munich. They have rooms that are plenty big for 3 adults - with actual beds for everyone. Their breakfast is awesome.

For Berlin, we used the Regent. It was close to everything - we walked everywhere. Although it sounds like a super pricey place, we got a GREAT deal with breakfast at about 330 a night. It’s a 5 star place (not 3/4) - not stuffy though - just elegant, comfortable - with big rooms and luxurious bathrooms that we really enjoyed.

We paid less for the Regent than we did for the Platzl. We found Munich to be expensive and Berlin to be more reasonable.

For Frankfurt, you might try Adina Apts, or get 2 rooms at Motel One by the Römer.

We had a very nice stay at Hotel Kastanienhof in Berlin. Good breakfast and scrupulously clean.

On Kastanienallee in Prenzlauer Berg. Easy tram connection to the transportation hub at Hackescher Markt.

In Munich I have used both the iLoft and the Courtyard for business. They're close to the Bahnhof and the Altstadt.

I wouldn't stay in Frankfurt. I'd go to Mainz and stay there on the river at the Hyatt Regency.

I would start with search Booking.com, HRS.com or similar hotel search engine, even if you do not intend to book with them. They will give you an idea of what is available and at what price. Plus they have ratings of many confirmed customers. Then you can compare to information provided here.

In Munich, we stayed at the Hotel Concorde. On a quiet street, but close to lots of things (the back of Hofbrauhaus is maybe a two minute walk). We took the tram from the train station to the hotel and it was really easy. The hotel itself is a cute and charming boutique hotel that was very reasonably priced even though we were there the first two days of Oktoberfest.

In Berlin, we stayed at the InterContinental Berlin for a week. Gorgeous hotel with the bus stop right out front and the U-Bahn is maybe a 7-10 minute walk.

When I was in Berlin in 2022, I stayed in Hackescher Markt, at the Adina Apartment Hotel Hackescher Markt. My room was a studio since I was by myself but they also have 1-2 bedroom apartments with fully equipped kitchens, washers and dryers and so on. They do have hotels in other Berlin locations as well, but I personally really liked this location. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the rooms were very well prepared, large, clean and nice. Breakfast is available although given the kitchen facilities, I just ate in my room in the morning.

Also, the hotel is very convenient to the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and trams, and is an easy walk to the major museums. The DDR museum is only a few blocks away, along with the TV Tower, and Museum Island is a quick 5 minute walk. You can easily walk to Lindenstraß from there. There are several grocery stores a few blocks away along with a couple of wine shops, many cafes and good restaurants. I would definitely stay in this location and that the Adina again.

Premier Inn, the UK chain, has centrally located, reasonable tariff hotels, in all four cities.

I also enjoyed staying at the Concorde in Munich. Centrally located and convenient to everything.
In Berlin I stayed at Casa Camper near the Hackesche Markt. Lots of restaurants, close to transit, and a short walk to Museum Island. Breakfast is not included but the restaurant is open and quite good.
In Hamburg I stayed at the Ameron in Hafencity, close to the symphony hall and the Miniature Wunderland model railway, and across the street from the bus stop. The area doesn’t have a lot of restaurants but the hotel has one that’s accessed via a covered bridge over a canal, all within the hotel.

We also will be in Germany and will use Hotel Victoria in Frankfurt for one night. We have stayed there twice before and it is great for us. It is reasonably priced, has a good breakfast and it was exceptionally clean. In Berlin, we used the Hotel Media which has a great location. I noticed that the price has gone up considerably since our last stay, but the location is so good. Have a great time in Germany. Eating a meal at the Reichstag while in Berlin is a really neat experience.

Thank you very much for taking time providing feedback - it is very helpful.

Finding hotels for 3 (having 3 beds ) is a little difficult - when we are spending so much money, I'm willing to spend extra time to find this little comfort.

Some follow up questions :
gloriajz - For Berlin, I searched for Hotel Media -- did you mean 'Hollywood Media Hotel am Kurfürstendamm' ?

This looks really good - pricey, but definitely good.

rexlego99 - For Munich, I got Hotel Concorde booked and they confirmed 3 beds. Thank you.

Thank you periscope.
I checked Hotel Melia -- it is $2000+ for 4 nights, definitely out of our range.
But I was able to secure 'Hollywood Media Hotel am Kurfürstendamm'

This is at Friedrichstr. 103, Mitte, 10117 Berlin, Germany

If any of you have feedback on this hotel or location, please do share.

I checked online reviews, and they do look good.
