Reporting back: Germany citizenship 2+ years later

In October of 2020 I was following this thread https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/germany/obtaining-a-german-passport because I thought my daughter-in-law, 2 granddaughters and other members in her family would be eligible for German citizenship through Article 116. I’m happy to report back that after 2+ years of paperwork and delayed consulate visits because of Covid they received their official naturalization papers yesterday. Their next step is to apply for passports. Without this rich forum I wouldn’t have known about nor been able to help her get started on this process. My DIL and 7 other people in her immediate family all benefitted from your knowledge. Thank you patient forum members.
