I hope everyone is okay in regensberg. We are actually due to arrive tomorrow for one night. I was wondering whether it is still safe to come or should we go to Nuremberg or Munich instead. Are trains still running there?
Flood situation is described on web page of Regensburg:

If your booked train is affected DB app will inform you.

Sorry we are just freaking out as the trip is tommorow and we are not sure what to do.
Where is Iron Bridge / Danube gauge, is that in the old town?
I looked at some video from a couple days ago and the entire waterfront was under water including Brückturm and the oldest restaurant in Germany, Wurstkuchl. It’s right by where the river cruises dock.
I hope everyone is okay, doesn’t look too good
The flooding (right now) is mainly on the Donau between Passau and Regensburg. It will move downstream over the next few days. More rain is expected for most of next week in the Alps & southern Bavaria.
This is a good tool to check flood levels. https://earlyfloodalert.com/paw/index.html?commonid=24225000-de
Thank you for the updates, I’m reassured that flooding shoudnt be an issue. Much appreciated. I found out from the TA thread that there is track work to Munich tommorow and I was originally heading there.
I’m still trying what the best approach to get there is. I understand the track work will start at 10, so hopefully if I leave on an earlier train and get to Munich before 10, I should be okay. But I’m not certain what will happen if they decide to start work earlier. I may be stranded. Any suggestions is much appreciated.
I checked the weather forecast for Munich for the next 10 days and there was not a huge amount of rain predicted.
