I am looking for recommendations on the most convenient areas of Berlin to stay in to make the most of a 4 day visit. Only caveat is that I'd like to be walking distance to a specific location that is in the Charlottenburg/Wilmersdorf borough. Any suggestions?
We stayed in Mitte near Brandenburg Gate and walked everywhere including architect Daniel Liebeskind’s Jewish Museum in Charlottensburg.

More precisely please, e.g. address of location you want to walk to. You are talking about two sub-districts with an area of more than 17 sqkm and more than 200k resident people.
We do need to know where in Charlottenburg/Wilmersdorf you need to walk to. I stayed near Savignyplatz in Charlottenburg which I really enjoyed. Just steps from the metro stop and on a busline so easy to get everywhere. It was an easy neighborhood to walk around and had several shops and restaurants.
Address is Joachimstaler Strasse 13 in Charlottenburg/Wilmersdorf
How long was the walk from Mitte area?
Also Mitte is huge, it can be 2 km or 6-7 km. normally you do that by public transport.
Choose a hotel around Zoologischer Garten station, this will be close to address mentioned and close to S-Bahn to access eastern center.
I would recommend Mittendrin Boutique Hotel, if you won't need air conditioning when your are there. To me, it's more of a B&B than a boutique hotel. It's a small, 4-room place run/owned by the lovely Sabine, a former stage actress from Munich. It's located in a large flat in a building built around 1905, as I recall. Breakfast is amazing.
Google Maps says your address is a 9-minute walk from Mittendrin. Transportation connections are excellent. There is a U station less than a block away (U2, U3). The Wittenbergplatz U station (U1, U2, U3) is about two blocks away. The Zoo Station (with S-bahn lines) is a 10-minute walk from Mittendrin.
I've stayed at Mittendrin 27 nights over the last 3 years -- adding 6 more in May and 7 more in November. I love it.
Thank you.
