Recommendations on where to return a SIXT rental car in Munich near downtown

Munich Ost and Marienplatz are connected by a direct line of the S-Bahn. I did drive into Munich city center years ago with no memorable issues, but will let the locals advise you on whether there's an easier place to drive into.

I would want a place as far away from downtown Munich as I could get. Geising Bahnhof is on the S3 line, which goes under the city and has a stop at Marienplatz.

Are there any other Sixt return locations farther out from downtown Munich, like Grafing or even Rosenheim? Public transportation in that area is great. You can get into Marienplatz from anywhere.

From the Munich train station at Karsplatz, you need to take your Sixt car to a parking garage on Marsstrasse. It is midway down the block. You are then just 2 or 3 blocks from the Marienplatz. I'll check my papers from last year to see if I have the address. It was very easy to return it on the main floor of the garage.

You can return it to the garage next to the Hauptbahnhof, which is only about a kilometer or so from Marienplatz. Driving within the inner ring of Munich is a nightmare, but just driving directly to the Hauptbahnhof from outside the city should cause minimal problems. There's a fleet of taxis waiting just outside the station that you can then take to your lodgings.

The address near the Central Bahnhof to return the Sixt car is 14 Hirtenstrasse - just one block away, not Marsstrasse.
