We are going to Dresden, Prague, and Nurnberg any recommendations on hotels thanks!
We stayed at the Mamaison Riverside in Prague a couple of years ago and really liked it. The room had a wonderful view of the river and it's an easy walk to the subway.

In Nuremburg, we liked Hotel Elch. Friendly staff, good breakfast, and the location is great.
Depending on how much "luxe" you want, we were pleased with the Ibis Altstadt Nuremberg. Great location across from the train station, basic room with basic WiFi. Bring your own Kleenex, though.
I liked the Steinberger Hotel de Saxe in Dresden. You can't beat the location, and it's a really nice hotel.
In Dresden we stayed at the Intercity Hotel that is directly across from the train station. Did not have breakfast, husband walked to the Rewe on the other side of the station to get us yogurt and fruit. The room and price were excellent and included tickets for public transport during our stay.
In Nuremberg we stayed at an Ibis that was just down the street (on the right if you are facing old town) from the station. Same thing with breakfast, room was excellent and price was great.
I stayed at the Intercity Hotel in Dresden too. Thought it was a bargain. Comfy beds, free tram tickets and they have bikes to rent. Easy tram trip to the Green Vault, Opera House, etc.
Thanks so much!
When I was in Prague a few years ago, I stayed at Lida. It was recommended in Rick's book. Nice, comfortable room. The owners are really enthusiastic about their town and enjjoy taking the time to help guide you. It's a little ways south of the old town, but near a Metro line into town. There are also street cars everywhere. At breakfast, most people spoke English and carried RS guide books.
I also stayed in Dresden at the Steinberger De Luxe ,great Hotel and location. In Prague we stayed at the Hotel Leonardo, two blocks from the Charles Bridge, great hotel.

Sara,
I also stayed at the InterCity Hotel in Dresden and would certainly recommend it. It appears to have been built recently and was very modern, one of the few hotels I've stayed at that had lots of power outlets in the room. The breakfast there was excellent and no problem filling up.
In Prague I'd recommend the Green Garland Pension, within easy walking distance to the Charles Bridge and other major sights (and not far from a Tram stop for the trip up to the Castle). The rooms are very clean and modern, but somewhat "basic" (ie: no TV). The breakfast there was also good.
I have stayed at the Hotel am Heideloffplatzin in Nürnberg a few times. The hotel is OK. It is outside the old city, but not too far from the train station and old city. They have parking available at the hotel. Probably less expensive then hotels in the old city. It's about a 3000-4000 foot walk to the Hauptmarket (main market).

Another place I have stayed in Nürnberg is Lucas. This is a bar/cafe/hotel in the middle of the old city. They have a few rooms with balconies on the Pegnitz River. Last time I was there you ordered breakfast from the menu and it came with the room. It is very close to an UBahn (subway station) terminal. There is a parking garage a street over too. The Hauptmarket is only abort 500 feet walk away.
