Hi, I will be traveling with my family from Berlin to Munich the end of March. We plan to rent a car and have 7 full days. Recommendations on how much time to spend in Berlin and Munich as well as best places to visit on the drive from Berlin to Munich. Thank you so much!
Are your 7 days total for Berlin, Munich and the drive between the two? Also it might be helpful to know the kid’s ages and any interests your family has. Answers will be quite different for 7 extra days between your two cities vs total vacation time of 7 days.
I agree with Mona. If your 7 days includes your time in Berlin and Munich, then I'd say skip the car and take a train directly to Munich. But 7 days in between your Berlin and Munich stays is a whole nuther thing.
It sounds like your 7 days includes time in Berlin and Munich. If that is so, I would allocate 3 nights in Berlin, 3 nights in Munich and have one day for travel time (and take the train). If you have an extra night, add it to Berlin.
We have 7 days in between the travel day we fly into Berlin and the day we fly out of Munich. I was hoping for some ideas on what to see using Berlin as a base for 3 days and Munich as a base for 3 days. I was thinking we might stop and spend a night in Dresden or Nurnberg in between the two cities and travel the Romantic Road.
How about this way. Train to Nuremberg and spend a night, then rent car and spend a day doing your Romantic Road thing. Drop the car in Augsburg and train rest of the way to Munich.
7 days is very rushed for this, you can easily spend a week in Berlin and only scratch the surface of the city. But it that is the time you have available I'd suggest three days in Berlin and three in Munich and one day inbetween in Nürnberg. And skip the car and take the train.
Without knowing interests or details 4 nights B, 2 nights M, stop-over Bamberg.
