Recommendation for town/accomodations between Vienna and Frankfurt

Hi,

We have two days to drive from Vienna to Frankfurt at the end of our 2 week loop of Southern Germany and Austria. Any suggestions on a town (and nice hotel/pension etc for family of 5) for one night between Vienna and Frankfurt. Regensberg? Passau?

If it were me and my family, I'd stop in Regensburg. It's on the direct route by train between Vienna and Frankfurt just about the mid point. If you leave Vienna early and depart Regensburg late you can have a leisurely 24 hours there.

Sorat Insel comes recommended but I believe they only have single and double rooms. I'm sure more recommendations will come from others shortly.
