My husband and I will be spending one night in Stuttgart in March, and are looking for a hotel in the city center. We would like to be near the walking area / shopping / and are big foodies! Parking would also be a must because we will have a car with us. Any advice would be appreciated. We are interested in "quaint" or "local" places over chains. Thank you.

We stayed at the City Hotel in Stuttgart a couple times. It is about 3 blocks from the Charlottenplatz Metro Station. You walk through the station and come up at the Old Palace in Stuttgart center. We arrived by train but there was some parking in front of the hotel. Small rooms but that is common near city centers. Nice staff and good breakfast.
