Rail from FRA to Colmar on 12/1/22

We are scheduled to fly into FRA on 12/1/22 and rail from there to Colmar. As I was reviewing our trip today, I keep getting alerts/warnings about trains saying there are cancellations and delays expected. This is what I'm seeing:

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Frankfurt+Airport+(FRA)+(FRA),+Frankfurt,+Germany/PAUL+%26+PIA+h%C3%B4tel+Colmar,+Rue+de+la+Gare,+Colmar,+France/@48.781132,5.9794638,7z/am=t/data=!4m18!4m17!1m5!1m1!1s0x47bd0b745442f979:0x8a74d84d21f8f331!2m2!1d8.5621518!2d50.0379326!1m5!1m1!1s0x479165dc604566a3:0xe06078382c3f6955!2m2!1d7.3498282!2d48.0764916!2m3!6e0!7e2!8j1669885200!3e3

Does anyone have any insight on the situation?

Thanks,
Shirley

ON DB I am seeing problems for THIS Thursday. I don't see any problems for 12/1.

Keep in mind that any train departure you are really counting on right after a flight arrival might in fact be problematic on your day of travel. Trains do not wait for flight delays or slow lines through security, etc., the everyday stuff that comes with flying. "Saver Fare" tickets in these situations lose their value.

I would not be too concerned about it. Translated, it states: Route closure "Long-distance traffic between Berlin and Hanover is affected until at least November 27th, 2022

Your route is not between Berlin and Hannover, not sure why the warning is attached to the route you chose, but it looks not to apply, and should be a "non-issue" anyway by the time you travel.

Bless you all. That makes me feel better. I'm not going to buy tickets yet because there are so many things that could go badly! But I just wanted to be sure trains will be running!

using google for train information is good for an overview. If you want correct up to date information you should use the official Bahn website or app. My path into it is https://www.bahn.com/en

If there is an interruption of train traffic there is always the Lufthansa Bus from Frankfurt to Strasbourg.

I have only been able to see the Lufthansa bus in connection with a Lufthansa flight. Is there a way to take that bus without using their airline?

Thanks for asking, Shirley! I too got the email (arriving 12/4) but only have tickets from Heidelberg to Strasbourg on 12/5 - and couldn’t figure out if I would have a problem or not. I am waiting to buy my FRA - Heidelberg tickets till I arrive.

Technically, the bus trip is a "flight" and actualy you will book a flight FRA to Strasbourg. Details here.
