Question about Frankfurt Transfer Time

We are connecting through Frankfurt to Milan on LFT. Our transfer time is 1 hour and 20 minutes. I assumed if we missed the connection, we would be booked on the next available flight. I have been told by an LFT agent that anything over 1 hour is a legal transfer and if the flight is not delayed and we miss the connection due to long security lines etc., would have to rebook the next leg and pay the current fare for the Frankfurt Milan leg. Does this seem accurate? Can we realistically make this connection? Thanks

There should be airline staff at the check-in or security area when you transfer, they can get you toward the front of the line if you are within that 1-hour window, or perhaps even longer.

If you land and your gate is on the concourse, you are fine, however, it the plane is parked on the tarmac, you will not only go through PP control but also security screening as well. Once, connecting to Graz, it was very close because I had to run through the tunnel from where I went through PPC and then was put through security to get into my connecting terminal; made it, but was no fun.
