Question about an airport transfer

We are heading to Munich at the end of November. After a scheduling issue with Delta, our flight from ATL to MUC was cancelled. We ended up getting g a flight from Detroit to Amsterdam on Delta and then taking a KLM Cityhopper to Munich.

We have about 70 minute layover, will that be enough to connect? Is there a certain terminal that Delta flys into and KLM out of? Used to pretty direct flights, so this is totally new to us. Any information will be great. Different times to be traveling. Just want to prepared.

Should be enough. There is only one terminal at Amsterdam Schipol, and Delta and KLM are partners, so that is not an issue. What is an issue is that you will arrive at the non-Schengen section of the terminal and will have to pass through Schengen Immigration before proceeding to your connecting gate. In my past experience, lines can be long, but if you have less than 30 minutes or so until your flight, you can get moved up in the line. Your luggage will automatically get transferred, so no need to worry about that.

Lastly, if you were to miss your Cityhopper flight due to a late arrival, you'll get put on the next one about 2 1/2 hours later.

Thanks for asking this. Yesterday my ATL to MUC was cancelled too at end of Nov(maybe same flight). And will be connecting in AMS too.

Our original flight was DL130 (I think) on Nov 29 and was landing in Munich at about 9. Now it’s a flight out of Detroit to Amsterdam on Nov 28.
