We will arrive in Hamburg at the Hbf in the evening and after one full and partial second day we'll depart from the airport. Our hotel is near the Christuskirche Stop of the U-Bahn. Can we catch the U-Bahn at the Hbf and what public transportation is there (how many changes of mode) from the Christuskirche stop to the Airport (and how long does the trip take)? Thanks for any help.

From the Central train station simply take U-2 (direction Niendorf Nord) five stops to Christuskirche. To get to the airport head back to the train station and transfer to S-1 to the airport- final stop. Be sure you are on the front cars of the train as it splits in half en route. There will be large signs (in english) at the train station platforms indicating which cars you should be using.
