Public Transit in Berlin

We (two adults) will be in Berlin for 4 days at the end of the month. We are staying near Wittenbergplatz. I am trying to make sense and decide what pass we should buy or if we should just go day-to-day. Our only planned travel outside of Berlin is a day trip to Rakotzbrücke.

It depends on what you plan to do. If you plan to use features of WelcomeCard it can be worth it, otherwise 24h tickets / day tickets make sense. Zones A and B are within Berlin city limits, so no Potsdam or Oranienburg.

Take care to time stamp paper tickets for validation before first journey of the day.

For Rakotzbrücke check DB journey planner: https://int.bahn.de/en

Hint: If you spend more days of a calendar month in Germany and want to travel regional trains a Deutschland-Ticket per person can make sense. It is a subscription ticket, so be aware of the need to cancel it before 10th of a month to avoid paying coming month(s).

I believe the short trip ticket is 2.60 EUR, or a set of 4 such tickets for 7.40 EUR.
