My husband and I will be in Germany in late April and were looking for a private tour guide for Berlin. Does anyone have a good recommendation?

Anne, check Rick's book for its section on tour guides in Berlin. Also, Jeremy Minsberg and Heidi Leyton, each of whom has a website discussing his or her services and gets great reviews.

I don't know what his schedule is at this point, but I would recommend Richard Campbell. He's about 80 years old, but a sprite 80! He worked for the US government in Germany for over 50 years -- most of that in Berlin. He's a walking piece of history. You can read more about him here: http://www.beettours.com/ari--richard.html. We used him for 3 days in Berlin last year and enjoyed the time we spent with him. I believe this is to be his last year doing tours in Germany.
