Can anyone recommend a private guide for these two cities? There are 4 of us traveling and we like to hire guides to provide the history and culture of places we visit. Would appreciate some suggestions.

Thanks for your reply. I was really hoping to get someone's personal recommendation of a guide they have used. But, will check the two sites.

I would also look on Trip Advisor to see which tour companies are listed. You can message the people who wrote the reviews to get more of a personal opinion. That is what I do when I want to know more than what is in the review, on the forums, or in the guidebooks.
It is too bad that Hamburg and Lubeck aren't getting more tourist press. Hopefully someone who has gone on some tours there will post their experiences.
