Over the past several years my wife and I have benefited greatly from the shared experiences of other travelers on this forum. We now have an experience we feel is worthwhile to share with those who are considering using a private guide service in Bavaria.
To say our guide enhanced our experience is a considerable understatement. He went to the time and expense to phone us (international call) ahead of our departure from home to make sure he understood our goals for the trip. We communicated we wanted not only to see the usual tourist sights, we wanted to experience the culture and see the German countryside. Keeping this in mind throughout our four days of touring he suggested what I will call "stops along the way" that, in retrospect, we enjoyed more than the tourist sites we requested to see. He took us to places you don't find in the tour books and many of which are probably unknown to the major touring companies.... and those stops turned out to be the highlights of our 12 day visit to Germany. For four days there was never a wrong turn or wasted moment....we saw scenes that looked to belong on picture post cards....and enjoyed stimulating conversation.
