Places to leave luggage around Brandenburg Gate

Hi, we will be arriving in Berlin early in the morning but our host won't be able to meet us till the afternoon. We were intending to go for the free walking tour (meeting point at Brandenburg Gate) before we meet our host. Are there any safe lockers that we can store our travel backpacks near Brandenburg Gate? I read that Friedrichstrasse station has lockers to store luggages, but are they big enough for a normal travel backpack? Thanks!

In my experience, stations that have lockers have two sizes. My regulation carryon travel pack always fits in the smaller locker. In fact, I have always been able to get two regulation carry-ons in a singl, small locker. Certainly the larger ones will be more than adequate.

But, then, that assumes that there will be lockers available. When I arrived at Bamberg, all of the lockers at the train station were occupied, so I carried my bag on the bus to the central bus station (ZOB). There, there were plenty of available lockers for less than at the main train station.

There are lockers at the train stations and at the Central Bus Station. Yes, the Friedrichstrasse lockers also come in huge jumbo ones. Prices range from 4-6 euros depending on size. You can get more than one bag in the largest ones but it is cheap enough to rent as many as you need. The ones at the Central Bus Station also come in a jumbo size and includes video monitoring to add an extra layer of safety.

There are also lockers at the Hauptbahnhof which is about equally distant as Friedrichstrasse from the Brandenburg Gate. If the train you're arriving on doesn't call at Friedrichstrasse, you can leave your luggage at the Hauptbahnhof and go straight to the Brandenburg Gate from there.

On the station "Friedrichstraße" they make some construction work, if there the lockers accessible I can not say. Then the next ist the "Hauptbahnhof" . Further away is "Bahnhof Zoo" and the "Central Bus Station".
