Places to cool off in Baden-Baden?

Hello, all!

I realize that Baden-Baden is famous for its warm waters, but I will be visiting the next two days when it is going to be extremely hot.

Are there any recommendations on where I can go to cool off during the middle of the day? If not with water, are there any attractions or restaurants that would be cool and relaxing?

I appreciate any help on this!

Edit: Forgot to mention, I am taking the train in and will not have a vehicle to travel during these 2 days.

I was in Baden-Baden during a heat wave in 2016. I wound up walking the Lichtentaler Allee which afforded some shaded benches along the river although it was afternoon so not actually mid-day. I am a birder so that worked for me as well as allowed some people watching.

Actually I like going to Thermae (haven't been to Baden Baden for several years, I prefer the Palmenparadies thermen around Germany) on hot days. The modern ones have roofs that open and plenty of water toys.

Sort of like drinking tea cools you down.

Thank you both for they replies!

I think I will give the thermae a shot, and go be honest, I could use some therapeutic soaking, so hey, why not.

I can't speak to the baths in Baden-Baden but most German mineralbaeder (mineralbaths) have a variety of pools, including cold ones. If you go to the websites of the spas, you should be able to ascertain pretty quickly if they have outdoor grounds in the shade for relaxing and cold pools.

Personally, I'm spending Wednesday and Thursday at one of Stuttgart's mineral baths - it has a fantastic shady grass area with loungers if you can scoop them up early enough, and 3 outdoor pools, the coldest of which is actually the one containing the healing fizzy water. Even on the hottest day getting in is a challenge! There is also a "normal" pool by US standards and a fun pool that's heated but still cool enough to enjoy on a hot day with many water features.

You may also want to consider visiting one of the Black Forest lakes, such at the Titisee, but I confess I don't know how good public transit connections are from Baden-Baden.

The baths would be fine, but I would suggest the Caracalla Spa over the Friedrichsbad, more traditional Spa. The Caracalla baths have tepid water and a large outdoor bath area, both very relaxing and refreshing. And though it may seem counter intuitive, doing the Saunas and Steam followed by a cold plunge, then a warm swim works wonders.
