Peak Crowding Times on Regional Trains.

Back when the "Länder-Ticket" was the major discount fare, we would find that the peak travel time on regional trains was after the 9:00 AM (when the Länder-Ticket became effective). If we waited until after 10:00 AM to travel, crowds on trains were often significantly reduced.

With the new Deutschland Ticket, has anyone notice a pattern for peak travel times to avoid?

Please specify region or destination.
This question makes imo no sense for whole Germany.

Also: peak and low crowding times are often operated by different amount of waggons in train (example RE 1 around Berlin) and other intervals per hour.

Thanks. I have no information about this.

If nobody is answering I recommend that you ask ProBahn by their web form or regional tourist offices. May be they have an answer.

If you ask for mobility reasons I recommend the MSZ (MSC) of Deutsche Bahn.

Good luck.

That still applies. For example, I can tell you from frequent experience that the trains from Augsburg to the north (RE 16 towards Nuremberg) are half full, starting with the 9:32 train. It gets fuller after the transfer to the RE 80 in Treuchtlingen (-Ansbach-Steinach-Rothenburg), because GoAhead has not managed to provide full-length trains even more than a year after they started operating. But here, too, I would only expect very full trains during the Bavarian school vacations (Easter: 22.3.-6.4, Whitsun 18.5.-1.6, summer 26.7.-9.9). I wouldn't expect a big rush for the other connections after 9am either, except Nuremberg-Regensburg. However, if you are coming from Rothenburg, you often have 20 minutes to change trains in Nuremberg. I would go to the platform immediately. Assuming you take the train dep. Rothenburg at 10:05 and arrive in Nuremberg at 11:21, the RE 40 train to Regensburg, dep. 11:43, is sitting already on platform 20 (since 11:15), but is certainly not yet full. Have a good journey!

Thanks again Mark.

Thanks SLA. I am glad to know that the pattern is still similar. We will be traveling after 20 April.

I think I remember RE80 (formerly RB80?) It was painfully slow and used as a school bus, making it crowded in the afternoon. Hopefully it will not be worse.

RE 40 (Nürnberg - Regensburg) was often packed in the past and the overhead bins were too small for even airline carry on bags. We would stop of a bratwurst In Nürnberg and catch a later RE50. It was slower but less crowded. Perhaps the same plan might work.
