Passau tour to Berchtesgarden and Salzburg

Hello, We will be in Passau for one day on our Danube cruise. Is there a tour company that offers a one day tours of Berchtesgaden, Eagles Nest and Salzburg ? We will need to be picked up from our ship in Passau. Thank you.

Thats an interesting question. We also have a Danube river cruise that stops in Passau. My guess is these places are too far for a one day excursion.

We just returned from our trip and well I’m not sure about a tour. I will say that the Eagles nest aside from astoundingly beautiful physical location was a bit of a letdown.

Very expensive and time consuming for what it was. The building itself is just a restaurant more or less not a museum. Only very small finite locations with historical information in the fireplace that’s about it. Personally, I would skip it if given the opportunity again. Unless of course you’re very excited about the beautiful scenery, which we were just difficult to enjoy with a lot of tourist crowds being herded in and out of the small space.

In Salzburg, we loved the Mozart concert. We stayed in Hallein and absolutely loved it delightful Town with art shops and genuinely friendly hospitality. We would go again and just stay for longer in that town.

Enjoy your trip!

We did a Danube cruise a couple of years ago and that tour was offered. We had been to those places more than once, so we declined that one, just did Passau.
Others that did the tour complained a bit about the short time there due to the travel.
I suggest doing those places at another time when you can spend more time there. Also, Passau is worth seeing.

My sister did a 3 day Salzburg visit after her cruise. Is that a possibility for you? Salzburg deserves more than a short day trip

Not sure when you are going to be there but I would skip Berchtesgaden. I was in the area yesterday and the lines were LONG! It will be a very long day, will be crowded and anticlimactic. Salzburg is a better option for a day trip … if you really feel like one. Passau is also nice. Depends on how much running around and logistics you want to handle.
