Parking at Munich Airport?

My son and I will be spending a week in Munich. We will have a rental car while there. In the middle of our stay, we are going to fly to Prague for one night. I was thinking of driving to the airport and parking there overnight.

Can someone enlighten me on parking for about 36 hours at the Munich airport? Where? Which lot if more than one? Cost?

thanks

The Munich airport has ample short, medium and long term parking. You'll see the signs as you drive in.

... I know you didn't ask, but I hope you are aware that as easily available as parking is at the airport, in the city of Munich itself, it is very scarce and expensive. If your lodgings are downtown, unless your hotel can guarantee parking (only the most expensive can), expect great difficulties finding a spot. The few garages in the inner city tend to fill up quickly, and often there's a line of cars waiting to enter.

Also, even with a GPS, Munich is very difficult to navigate by car.

You didn't give us much information as to why you will have a car in Munich, but a car is really unnecessary and probably a pain in Munich itself and there is ample public transportation to areas around Munich. It's easy to get to the Munich airport from town and without a car you wouldn't have to worry about parking.

My son and I plan on driving to Switzerland for an overnighter as well. In addition we have a trip planned to the Porsche Factory in Stuttgart. We are staying outside of Munich. Ouir stay is actually nine days. We were in Munich two years ago and had a car and it worked out quite well.

As CJean says, just use one of the parking garages located at the airport. When I drove to the airport for a short trip I usually left my car at P20.

Looking at the link it appears you can now book a parking spot ahead to time as well.

I just booked a parking spot at the Airport lot P7. My hotel has no shuttle and they said a cab would be about 70€ each way. The parking garage at 29€ is a much better bargain.

Thanks to all who replied.
