Overnight stopover in Frankfurt…seeking hotel and suggestions of what to see!

Hello! My friend and I will be staying in Frankfurt for 1 night in early July. (We’ll be arriving from Athens around 4pm and our flight leaves the next day around 11:30am.) I know it’s a super short time, but we’d like a nice place to stay probably in the city (maybe near the old town area?) We’d like to wander a bit, grab dinner and enjoy a bit of Germany. Any suggested hotels? Must-see items? Thanks for any info! :)

I would stay at Motel One. Close to most of the sights you might want to see as well as the river.
You might want to simply walk around the Römer area, through the Alt Stadt, and along the river. It is too late for you to go inside many places but the churches will be open until 20:00. Visit the Kaiserdom and the Alte Nikolai which are right in the Alt Stadt.
It will be light out until quite late, so you can enjoy sitting outside.

Why try to get to the City. Find a town near the airport and enjoy that area.

I think Frankfurt is near the airport. You could go to Mainz, but when in Frankfurt, do as the Frankfurters do..

Frankfurt is the closest to the airport with a train only taking about 12 min. to get there. and a train every 15 min.

Hotel recommendation: Motel One Römer in Frankfurt. Great location that is close to the old town sites. Reasonable price. My favorite hotel chain for a one-night stay. If you are willing to share your e-mail, join the Be One program to get a one-time free breakfast and a "free" bottle of water with each stay.
