Osnabruck to Rome on a budget?

In a week I will be arriving in Osnabruck, Germany for a semester abroad. This is my first time out of the United States and I am still trying to understand trains and Europe. I have a week off for Easter and I would love to spend that week in Rome. I have tried looking up how much I need to budget to make that happen but I just get confused and give up.

What would be the best way to look up the travel cost of the trip from Osnabruck to Rome? Or, could someone point me in the direction of how much it would cost and how I would go about booking that and when?

Hopefully this makes sense. Let me know if you need clarification and thanks in advance!

Love the Osnabrück area. We lived near there for 7 months. There is a good regional airport 1/2 way between Osnabrück and Muenster. There are frequent, not too expensive, Lufthansa flights between that airport and Rome. Check transportation options at Rome2rio.com but book directly with the airline. Flights might fill up and become more expensive around Easter so I'd book now if you are ready to commit.

I am considering that you are on a budget so :
Like the previous response you can use rio2rome.com and you definitely should book asap since its Easter.

Take the train DB to Dusseldorf airport costs about $35 dollars

Then take air berlin direct flight to Rome currently lists round trip costs at $106

As mentioned in previous response You can catch a flight to Rome from Muenster as well but it is not direct and you would have to connect in Berlin

It is about $20 on Trentalia to go to the airport and the hotel I listed below. You can book an e-ticket in advance.

For hotels I recommend using :

I was in Rome December 29 to January 4 2017 and stayed at this place for about $80 a night including breakfast 10 minutes walk to the Vatican and St Peters. Read the reviews and amenities and see what you think

Rome is a great walking city so you can save a lot of money by just walking but on key bus is the 64 which stops right outside the hotel a listed above
