I am interested in including this site on my next visit. However, little info available on how to access the waterfalls other than by car. I saw a bus schedule that indicated trips only every four hours. Not mentioned, but I would assume every four hours return. I saw a source that said it can we hiked (walked) in about an hour 40. Any one made the trip to expand my knowledge for planning purposes? thank you
Search WWW.bahn.com for the connection "Oppenau Bahnhof" to "Oppenau Wasserfaelle Allerheiligen". Apparently there is a bus every two hours.
thank you..I did not check the DB site. On with the planning. Has anyone actually walked the falls? Worth the time??? Thank you again
The falls are worth a walk. Deep valley and the river plunging in several steps. Small walkway through the gorge with a lot of steps, it is something like 70 mtrs in height difference. And way off the crowds. But indeed public transport is scarce out there. It is roundabout 8 km walking from Oppenau station (plus 300 m elevation), so an well trained hiker might make the 1hr 40. I would rather assume two and a half hours one way. The bus runs esp. on weekends/holidays, but not during the week. But it is a lovely valley and a return walk gives a fine day out. There are restaurants along the way, my favourites are "Blume" in the Lierbach valley or "Rebstock" in Oppenau.
