I have a one night layover flying in and out of SFX on the back end of my trip. I will have already spent time in Berlin but I thought perhaps staying near the airport might be a bit different. Thinking of airbnb in either Friedrichshagen or Köpenick as a different option. It relatively close to the airport. Any suggestions or knowledge of these areas?

I would choose Köpenick, haven't been to Friedrichshagen as yet. I thought Airbnbs were banned in Berlin...good. Choose a Pension or small instead.

Well, you can also stay near Berlin Hbf at one of various German chains at the station, then you can take the special train from Hbf to Schönefeld, the red City Airport train.
