We are flying in from Vienna and get in early afternoon. We are looking for a good restaurant in town to eat. Any suggestions? In the alternative, we are thinking of taking the train to Cologne for the late afternoon evening to see the Cathedral at night. Do you think that is a doable we arrive in Frankfurt around 1:00 and are staying at a hotel in the airport. We have an international flight home the next day. I am possibly looking at going to Cologne because we also have one day in Frankfurt on the inbound, so we will go to the Christmas market in town that night. Thanks for any help.

Depends on what kind of food you want to eat and your budget. Will be happy to make recommendations. Is traditional Frankfurt style food of interest or something else?
Frankfurt is gorgeous at night time when you walk along the river. The Kaiserdom the Alte Oper, The Römerberg an Alte Nikolai all have beautiful lighting.
I like Cologne, but not sure I would want to devote the money, plus a couple hours of my time just to see the cathedral lit up.
