Will only be in Oberammergau to 2 nights and was thinking of taking the cable car to the Laber and enjoying a German beer, visiting the Monastery in Ettal, walking around Oberammergau, am I missing something?

Linderhoff Palace

With a car, we were able to visit Linderhoff Palace in the morning and Ettal Abbey in the afternoon before heading back to Garnish/Oberammergau.

I spent two nights in Oberammergau a few years ago. The full day in between the nights was my first full day in Germany after flying from the US, and I was tired and jetlagged. In the morning I took the bus to Linderhof. I had planned to come back by bus to Oberammergau in early afternoon, then go to Ettal the same day. I enjoyed Linderhof and the extensive grounds a lot, and I wanted to stay longer. I hadn't been able to find before I got to Germany any real good reason to go to Ettal, so I stayed longer at Linderhof and didn't bother with Ettal. After Linderhof, I went back to Oberammergau and went to bed. I really think that you should plan to spend the entire day at Linderhof.
