Nuremberg: Sorat Hotel Saxx Location Questions

I am going on a river cruise that departs from Nuremberg. Before the cruise, will be staying in Munich, then taking the train to Nuremberg for one night before the cruise. Staying at Sorat Hotel Saxx.
(a) what is the best way to get to the river cruise from this hotel? Its location will be at Nurnberg-Hafen Ost Nuremberg.
(b) when arriving from Munich, is it difficult to get from train station to this hotel?
(c) is this a good hotel location-wise? The hotel itself has great reviews.
Thank you in advance!

(a) Hard to say exactly where you will be docked as Nuernberg Hafen-Ost is still a pretty large area, and which side of the canal you will actually dock. On the northwest side, there is Nuernberg-Eibach S-Bahn station, but it is a mile walk from the closest point on the canal. If you have significant luggage, I'd just get a taxi.
(b) VGN trip planner suggests taking the U1 U-Bahn one stop away at Lorenzkirche, then a 6 minute walk across the river (1/4 mile) through the old city. So again, with luggage, take a taxi.
(c) Very nice location in the old city right on the Hauptmarkt. Keep in mind, this area was completely leveled by WW-II bombing, but was rebuilt with buildings on the same scale as what stood before. Historic structures like churches were reconstructed to the original, but your hotel is a modern building, which is not all that bad. The Hauptmarkt has a big street market, and is the location of one of the big Christmas Markets in season.

(a) Public transport between the harbour and the center is poor (3 transfers at a minimum). I'd take a taxi.

(b) If you can drag your luggage, it's a 10 minutes walk: 1. From the station pass through the subway following the "Altstadt" (historical city) signs. 2. Pick up a map at the NürnbergInfo (Königsstrasse 93, at the end of the subway) and let help you to locate the place "Hauptmarkt". Follow Königsstrasse north to St. Lorenz cathedral, keep going north downhill (you will see the castle at the horizon) and cross the Pegnitz river. When the road forks, take the left one (the smaller one: Plobenhofstrasse) and you will end up at the main market. You will see Hotel Saxx on the left (west) side of the market.
You can go by public transport from the station to the Hauptmarkt but it will take longer than walking: Take U1, 2 or 3 to the "Plärrer" station and transfer to Bus no. 36. It stops a few m. from Hotel Saxx.

(c) Yes. It's located in the heart of the historical city right at the main market. Ask for a room that has a view on it.
