Nuremberg Hotels etc

We stayed at the Hotel Victoria and really enjoyed our stay. We arrived in Nuremberg via bus from the Prague train station as the bus was a direct 3-hour pleasant ride whereas the train would have taken much longer. There was an emergency-only toilet on the bus near the exit steps and luggage was stored under the bus. When we stepped off the bus I saw the Hotel Victoria sign directly across the street, just inside the city walls.

Hotel Victoria had a wonderful breakfast, clean and cozy room, and a helpful staff.

Rick has good advice on the historical sites in Nuremberg and most of the key sites can be done without a formal tour. We followed his suggested walk and spent a good chunk of time at the Nazi Documentation Center and the Rally Grounds.

I've stayed at Hotel Victoria twice and highly recommend it. Great location and one of the best breakfasts I've had in Europe.

I would like to second the recommendation for the Hotel Victoria. Only 200 meters from the train station, but already within the walls of the old town, whereas the other hotel mentioned above is located on the noisy Bahnhofsplatz. If you are looking for cheaper accommodation in the same area, then check the prices of Hotel Probst and Bruderherz (both in Luitpoldstraße), which are both a class below.
