Nuremberg from Berlin

Hello everyone,

I am planning a trip to Berlin this July for about 10 days, afterword I will be travelling to Serbia to visit family. Looking at flights, I noticed that for the day I want to leave Berlin, all flights (or at least all convenient flights) to Belgrade have a stopover in Nuremberg, and from what my guidebook says Nuremberg looks really interesting, and I am considering taking a side trip there at the end of my trip. The flight I want to catch to Belgrade leaves Nuremberg at noon, and I am considering arriving at Nuremberg the day before my flight either by train or airplane (if by train then I would be leaving Berlin in the early morning). I was wondering if any of you guys had recommendations as to what to see in such a short time, how to manage my time best, and whether the side trip would even be worth it with such a short amount of time. Thanks for your help.

It's only a 12 min. ride by U-Bahn from the airport to the center. For an overview of the historical city you may want to follow the itinerary I have put together here.

In one day, you can either see the center of Nuremberg as outlined in the link above, or you can see the Nazi sights like the Rally Grounds and Dokumentationszentrum. This is outside the center but easily accessible by tram.

Whether you do the city center or the Documentation Center, I definitely feel a day in Nuremberg is worthwhile. If you can manage to get two days in Nuremberg, you could do both.
