A group of four, we are going to be in Munich in December. I wanted to take a train and visit another Christmas Market. I was looking medieval. I was outnumbered. We are going to Nuremberg for the day.
Please give me hints and advice regarding the Christmas market(s) in Nuremberg

What does this mean?
I thought Nuremberg still had a medieval centre. Rebuilt after being damaged in WWII, but done using the old plans. If you are doing it as a day trip, then you may only have time for the main Chriskindlesmarkt, given it's large size. Don't forget to try the wurst, lebkuchen, and glühwein.

Nuremberg is one of my favorites. I’ve gone to Christmas Markets off and on since 1989 when I visited Trier in 1999. These markets reflect in my view the city they’re in.
I don’t know what tricks or hints are with the “Market scene” other than enjoy the mood. Munich is a good place to do a Christmas Market and a day later another In Nuremberg. The only market I haven’t seen but would like to go to is Dresden. Don’t overthink this other than to enjoy yourself.
Go in the evening when it is dark. First stop get a Glühwein.
Please don't waste the hours to even go to Rothenburg. I love the sights in Rothenburg, but it just is not the village it once was. Why not go to Salzburg. Hour by train.
How much time are you spending in Munich? If it were me, I would take the train to Nuremberg, spend the night there, then you could visit both Nuremberg and Regensburg Christmas market, which is well worth visiting.
First three days in Munich, four days in Salzburg, then back to Munich to overnight before heading home. First day in Munich to recover. Second day to hit their Christmas market(s) third day train to Nuremberg.
We love Salzburg but 4 days just doing the Christmas Market is way too long. Way not split Salzburg and Vienna. 2 days each. Vienna is only about 2.5-hour train ride.
Nuremberg has a number of medieval sites, such as the castle and the city walls. As I think you are already aware, it doesn't have the quaint, stone and half timber town center like a Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

I don't know if you have traveled with this group of four or how long you will be in Munich. If I did I would suggest that you strike out for a day on own to Rothenburg. Personally, I have found that when traveling with a group of family or friends for more that a 3 or 4 days it is very worthwhile to include a day of where the group can split-up and go different ways. I am traveling with my daughter and her husband to Munich, Innsbruck and Salzburg for a bit more than a week in December. We have built 3 half-days into our itinerary where we split-up and do some different things based upon our interests.

For those looking for something a little more intimate than Munich and Nuremberg - Furth is a small city just north of Nuremberg which has several lovely smaller Christmas markets reachable by the U-Bahn from the Nuremberg main train station. And, oddly perhaps, it is almost entirely filled with Germans.
Nürnberg has a medieval-ish section of market (Handwerkerhof) at the Königstor. You'll get the vibe you seek there!
But I would also recommend Salzburg or, better yet, the Wolfgangsee trio of markets (connected by boat): St. Gilgen, St. Wolfgang, Strobl. Hands down the best markets I have ever visited, especially Strobl.
