Nurburgring racetrack

We will be in Frankfurt from 26/09/18 to 02/10/18. Would like to get to the Nürburgring for a ride along on the 30th. Need suggestions for public transportation to get there.

There is basically only 2 train/bus connections on week days, nothing on weekends, and it takes 4 to 5 hours. So either make it a weekend excursion, or rent a car for the day. You can see the schedule at www.bahn.com, put in "Nuerburgring D10..." in the destination box.

I'm assuming you've visited the Nürburgring website, but in case you haven't, this is the link for tourist drives. It has links for both the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix tracks.

The website is somewhat difficult to explore, but it appears that the Co-Pilot rides are on the Nordschleife.

I hope you already have a reservation.

Way back in 2009 my husband rented a track-prepped car (you can't take a normal rented car on the track) from Rentracecar.com and did 8 laps on the Nordschleife. The owner drove the drivers around the track at speed. Then he worked through the family members.

I was the last one left, so I got to ride in the passenger seat. I only got to do one lap, but it was a blast and over far too soon.
