Northern Germany Questions

Friends!
I have two extra days to spend in Northern Germany on my way to Copenhagen. I can't decide between Hamburg, Lubeck or Bremen.

ANY insight at all would be great in helping us decide!

Haven't been to Bremen and all we did in Hamburg was take a half-day city bus tour (well worth it), but we really liked Lubeck, which felt quite different from any place we'd ever been. It was beautiful and interesting.

Hi,

I've been to all three. Bremen was the place I liked the least, haen't been there in years, given these three. If you want a place less hectic, smaller but big enough then I recommend Lübeck, great architecture, picturesque sights. Hamburg is different, it's big, big city, the cultural center of North Germany. Lübeck is one my favourite places in Germany.

Stay in Lübeck and relax. Enjoy the "Marzipan" is made there
Bremen is located too far away from your final destination.
When traveling by train to Copenhagen, make a reservation, the trains are often very crowded. Sometimes so crowded that several passengers must get off before the train departs.
(It is interesting with a train on a ferryboat to travel.)

Bremen would be my last choice on this list. Hamburg my first! It's a fascinating city with lots of things to see and do. Yes it's a big city, but that means in this case it's even more fascinating ;-)

Lübeck would be my first choice if this is about a leisurely break in the schedule with some quaint things to see.
