North Germany natural scenery in August

Hello!
I will be traveling in August with my husband and parents: 2 nights in Oslo, 3 in Bergen and 2 in Alesund. From Alesund we would like to visit a destination in Northern Germany for 5 nights before our flight back home from Hamburg. We are mostly interested in natural scenery and destinations with a countryside feeling. We don't want to be too far from Hamburg to cut down transportation expenses. Any recommendations are most welcome :)
Thank you!

Celle would be a good small city (pop. 70,000) for a base for a few days. It is south of the Luneburg Heide. It has a beautiful half timbered city center and a baroque palace. The countryside to the south and east of Hamburg has a nice peaceful rural feel to it with huge beautiful live-in barns.

Lüneburg, the Heide countryside, down to Celle, maybe the Royal Gardens at Hannover - you won't be longer than a 90 mins train ride from Hamburg but out in the countryside.

I'll second what Andreas recommends. I love the Lueneburger Heide.
