Just noticed that the Best of Germany Austria Switzerland tour now starts in Cologne instead of Trier. Does anyone know why it changed? Thanks in advance.

The RS staff is mostly likely to have the answer.
All that the rest of us can do is speculate. Could be issues with hotels etc; feedback from clients that was negative regarding the ease of getting there, are what come to mind.
Others may have different thoughts.

Andrea Wolf, our recent guide in Italy, also leads GAS tours. She said the owner of the RS hotel was converting the entire building to house seniors. She said we will love Köln.

That first hotel in Trier was a bit weird anyway (Residenz am Zuckerberg). I didn't leave it very high marks in my post tour review. Trier was okay, but I wasn't overly impressed.
