Nivea in Hamburg

Thanks to my German mother we’ve always been a Nivea family. I’ll be in Hamburg next month on the BOG tour and I have some time before we start. Is the flagship store worth visiting?

If I were in the same circumstances as you, I would go - why not? You like the product and you have a German connection. It's always fun to visit places like that. I make a special point of visiting stores in Europe whose products I use in the US, like Gudrun Sjoden, etc. It's fun and you get to shop! Win, win, imo. 😊

Following personal interests is one of the things that makes travel fun. I like libraries, so I often pop into a public library when traveling. I would say go for it. I googled the Nivea Haus in Hamburg and briefly read some Google reviews. People seem to like it, and it appears to be in a good area of town.

It is in a good area of town - that whole area around Lake Alsteris good to wander. (as is much of Hamburg). You are in the middle of shopping streets, close to the Rathaus, or in the other direction the Old Botanical Garden and Planten un Blomen gardens.

edit - I'm curious - what hotel does R.S. use in Hamburg? (If you know and wish to share - not really my business, I know.)

It's so central that even if it is a bust you are right where you would otherwise want to be for something else interesting. That makes it worth the risk whether it turns out to be worth the visit or not.

It really sounds like a great idea, if I were in your shoes I'd do it in a heartbeat. I don't see a down side. If you don't like it just walk out.

Better leave some room in your checked luggage though...
