Night watchmen tour

You don't need to book the tour. All you have to do is show up at the market square. You pay at the end by putting money in his hat.

You don't book it, you just show up. And don't worry if there's a big crowd. He's excellent in making sure everyone can hear. It's great fun!

Ditto that. We did it on a Saturday night last fall, must have been over 150 people. No one ahd issues hearing, tour just took a bit longer to move the crowd.

Just make sure you have cash! I think when I did it he collected the money before he started. Very fun tour and interesting from a historical perspective as well.

Everyone is right, just be in the square a few minutes ahead of time, it is a hoot! We loved it. We also stayed to listen to the German version for a few minutes. The crows seemed to enjoy that one too!

I will only arrive @ Rothenburg ob der Tauber around 6pm. Need to chk in to the hotel first as I have luggage with me. What time does the tour start? Is it easy and cheap to get a taxi to the square? Or if it is too rush, then I shall catch the tour on my second day . Please advise!

Where are you staying? If you're staying within the walls, it's not too much of a walk at all.

It is a fun filled tour, we first did it in 1995 and again in 2004 and is informative.

The Night Watchman's Tour in Rothenburg ob der Tauber is at 8pm each night. If you arrive at 6 you should have plenty of time.

It was well worth it! You'll have plenty of time. Don't forget to get cash for a tip too! He was a great guide.
